The Story
Fortress Lines
Qila, meaning fortress, takes its geometry from stepped, crenellated shapes: rust-toned diamonds and half-diamonds set against undyed wool, bordered in a deep maroon close enough in value to the field that it reads as a shadow rather than a frame.
The stepped edges of each diamond are the hardest part of the weave: every step is a colour change measured in single threads, worked slowly to keep the diagonal clean.

Made to soften, deepen, and stay.
Wool, woven over 5 to 6 weeks at our Jaipur atelier. Tones may drift subtly across a piece. That drift is the maker's handwriting, and it deepens beautifully with years of light.
- Do not brush or scrub the rug.
- Only vacuum clean it periodically. Avoid using the vacuum's beater brush mode.
- If spills occur, blot immediately. Do not rub the stain.
- Rotate occasionally to equalize wear.
- Use protectors under the legs of heavy furniture to avoid flattening and piling.
- If a thread comes loose, do not pull the yarn. Trim it with scissors instead.
- Periodic professional cleaning is recommended.
