Who we are
Paashè is a rug studio in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India, founded by Ankita Bihani and Anjali Kumawat. In this policy, “Paashè”, “we” and “us” mean the studio, and “you” means anyone who visits paashe.in, writes to us, books a consultation or buys a rug.
This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who helps us handle it, and the choices you have. It covers this website, our enquiry and booking forms, orders, and the conversations that follow.
What we collect
When you write to us or book a consultation
Our contact letter, consultation booking and commission forms ask for your name and email address and, if you choose, your phone number and country. You can also tell us about your room, pick a topic, and choose a consultation format, a space and a preferred date and time. Photographs, floor plans, mood boards or palettes you send us later reach us the same way. If you ask for a home visit, which we offer in Jaipur and Delhi NCR, we'll also need the address of the space.
When you order
To take payment and deliver your rug, we need your name, email address, phone number, billing and delivery addresses, and the details of your order.
Payment details
Card, UPI and net banking payments are processed by our payment providers through Shopify's checkout. We never see or store your full card number. If you pay by international bank transfer, we receive the payer details that come with the transfer.
When you subscribe to our letters
If you sign up in the footer, we keep your email address so we can send you our monthly letter.
When you browse
Like any website, ours receives basic technical information: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view and what you add to your cart. See Cookies below.
How we use it
- To reply to your letters and enquiries, and to arrange and hold consultations.
- To design, quote, weave and deliver your rug, including sending you photographs from the loom and dispatch updates.
- To take payment, issue invoices (including GST invoices for business clients) and process refunds.
- To handle returns, exchanges and claims under our craftsmanship warranty.
- To send our monthly letter, only if you've subscribed.
- To keep the website secure, prevent fraud, and meet our legal, tax and customs obligations.
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we use your information either with your consent, which you give when you send a form or subscribe, or where it's needed to carry out an order you've asked for or to comply with the law. We use it only for the purpose you shared it for, or for something closely related that you'd reasonably expect.
Who we share it with
We never sell, rent or trade your information. A small number of services help us run the studio, and each receives only what it needs:
- Shopify hosts this website, our store and checkout, and stores order, customer and enquiry information on our behalf.
- Payment providers process payments and refunds.
- Courier and logistics partners receive your name, delivery address and phone number so they can deliver your rug.
- Email providers carry our replies, order updates and, if you've subscribed, our letter.
- Government authorities receive information where the law requires it, for example for tax or customs.
Cookies
We use the cookies Shopify needs to run the store. They remember your cart, keep checkout secure and show us, in aggregate, how the website is used. We don't currently use advertising cookies or third-party analytics. If that changes, we'll update this page and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but your cart and checkout may not work without them.
Where it's stored
We're based in India and deliver to most countries. Shopify and our other service providers may store and process your information on servers outside India. We choose providers that protect it to recognised security standards.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries and consultation notes: for as long as our conversation is active, and a reasonable time afterwards in case you come back to us.
- Orders, invoices and payments: for as long as Indian tax and accounting law requires.
- Warranty records: for the five years your rug's warranty lasts.
- Letter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe.
After that, we delete your information or make it anonymous.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- tell you what information we hold about you and how we use it;
- correct or complete anything that's inaccurate;
- delete your information, unless we must keep it by law or to honour an order or warranty;
- stop sending you our letter (every letter also has an unsubscribe link);
- withdraw consent you've given. This doesn't affect anything we did before you withdrew it.
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can also nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of death or incapacity. If you're in the UK or European Economic Area, you can also object to or restrict how we use your information, and ask for a copy of it in a portable format.
To use any of these rights, write to hello@paashe.in. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, and we'll never treat you differently for asking.
Keeping it safe
This website runs over an encrypted connection, payments go through Shopify's PCI-compliant checkout, and inside the studio only the people who need your information can see it. No system is perfectly secure, so please never send us card numbers or passwords by email. If we learn of a breach that affects you, we'll tell you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.
Children
Our website and services are meant for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us their details, write to us and we'll delete them.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If the change is significant, we'll also tell you by email where we can.
Contact and grievances
For any question or complaint about your privacy, write to hello@paashe.in. A founder reads every message personally and replies within a working day.
