The Story
The Trellis Repeats
Girih takes its name from the geometric strapwork of old Persian and Central Asian tile, an interlocking lattice, here translated into a diamond trellis of indigo leaf motifs on undyed wool.
Each leaf is worked in a deep, near-black indigo, set slightly off a lighter blue lattice line, so the pattern holds two shades of the same colour without ever feeling busy.

Made to soften, deepen, and stay.
Wool, woven over 5 to 6 weeks at our Jaipur atelier. Tones may drift subtly across a piece. That drift is the maker's handwriting, and it deepens beautifully with years of light.
- Do not brush or scrub the rug.
- Only vacuum clean it periodically. Avoid using the vacuum's beater brush mode.
- If spills occur, blot immediately. Do not rub the stain.
- Rotate occasionally to equalize wear.
- Use protectors under the legs of heavy furniture to avoid flattening and piling.
- If a thread comes loose, do not pull the yarn. Trim it with scissors instead.
- Periodic professional cleaning is recommended.
